“It was like if you’re a trainee doctor and you meet the leading neuroscience doctor — you essentially want to impress them. If you spend a lot of time with any person, though, you see them as the fragile people they are.”

( this actually happened )
So. I'm going solo. If you all haven't heard yet. The final presales for my tour were today, the final public sales are on Saturday, and everything has sold out within the first 10 minutes so far, so I guess that's good. My single "Who I Am" is on sale on iTunes right now; if you're too cheap to buy it drop me a note and I'll send you a promo copy. My album comes out soon. I'll be going on tour without my brothers, which is going to be absolutely bizarre. I've been on tour basically non-stop since I was thirteen, but now I'm going to be by myself. Sure, I'll have the Administration with me, and I'm sure my dad will tag along, and Joe and Kevin will make it to as many shows as they can, but it's just not going to be the same.
Even though we could afford separate hotel rooms, Joe and I still usually share one. Sometimes we share a suite, so we still have separate bedrooms, but it's still the same room. We shared a bedroom at home until I was 15. I'm not used to not sharing things with him. I mean it's not that I'm scared to go on tour, I just think it's gonna be really, really weird without my big brother around. And Kev's getting married soon, so who even knows that's going on in my life.
I do know one thing, though. Keeping old friends is important to me. Making new friends is important too, but keeping the old ones is harder. I'm doing my very best on both fronts. And I think it's relatively successful. I went and visited Miley last weekend and caught one of her last shows, and it was nice being able to do that for once. Let's just hope things keep going in the right direction.

The one place where a man ought to get a square deal is in a courtroom, be he any color of the rainbow, but people have a way of carrying their resentments right into a jury box. As you grow older, you'll see white men cheat black men every day of your life, but let me tell you something and don't you forget it - whenever a white man does that to a black man, no matter who he is, how rich he is, or how fine a family he comes from, that white man is trash. ~Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird.
